This video will demonstrate the replacement procedure of a DAE Drive for Atmos G3 Dense 480 System.
Welcome to the Atmos G3 Dense 480 System DAE disc replacement demo. The Atmos system has generated an error indicating it has a disc drive failure. Log into the Atmos system administration console. Username is sysadmin and the password. This brings us to the system dashboard. Scroll down to the failed discs category.
It shows that node one has a disc failure in slot B09. Storage service and is ready to be replaced. Scroll back up to look at the error event that was generated. Select the error events and see two errors under RMG. Select RMG. It shows node one with two errors. Select node one which brings us to the event details page for node one. Scroll down to see the two errors.
Category and source are both disc. The description shows a file system has become unavailable in slot B09. And the disc has been put into a critical state. Select the back button to go back to the RMG page to see all nodes. We see that all nodes are operational so there are no further problems. Select the back button. At the system dashboard select the disc length from the action column of the failed disc section.
This provides the information on what to order for a replacement disc and how to order it. Select OK. Select replace disc in the action column. This explains disc replacement requirements and where the failed disc is located. Because this is a G3 dense system, when we select OK, only the failed discs amber light will light in that DAE. Select OK. Select the disc and file system tab and look at the disc itself.
Highlight the failed disc which is red. Note that it is in slot B09 and it shows that there is an IO error. Then we look at the DAE which is pulled out in the service position. We zoom in and identified the failed disc with the amber light. To remove the disc, press the orange release tab, lift the disc up a little bit to allow the disc to spin down. Remove the disc and put it down on a static free pad. Get the new disc and insert it into the slot.
Gently lower it into the slot. The handle will close and lock into place. The disc will spin up and come online and amber lights turn off. The disc has been successfully replaced. Now we will return to the system administration console and monitor the process. We go back to the node and then the disc and file system tab and note that the disc status is still red.
Then it changes to green indicating that the disc is back online and storage service is up. We see this by highlighting the disc. Current status is running and everything is online. This concludes the Atmos G3 Dense 480 system DAE demo.
