And what are the pre-requisites before adding Data Domain to Data Domain Management Center.
This video is applicable to: All Data Domain systems and DDMC. All Software versions. You should have the indicated conditions met before adding the Data Domain systems to DDMC. Network Connectivity Check: Ping should be working between DD and DDMC. If ICMP packets are disabled in the environment, make sure the connectivity is established. Port Connectivity Check: Port number 3009 should be opened bi-directionally between DD and DDMC.
Security Check: SSL packets should be passed through all of the firewalls between DD and DDMC. DNS entries should be available for DD and DDMC with correct host name and IP address. DDOS Compatibility Check: Check compatibility on DDMC and make sure that the DDOS version is supported by DDMC. Let's begin. Here, we have details for DDMC and DD. The DD at the right-hand side will be added to DDMC. We will do the connectivity check between both, and vice versa.
So, Ping and Telnet to port 3009 shall be working. To do a Telnet test, go to "se" mode. Once both are successful, then it is ready to be added to DDMC. Open the DDMC web interface with "sysadmin" user. Click on "Infrastructure". Click on "Systems". Click on "Add". Now enter DD host name to be added with the "Sysadmin password". Select "Takeover managed system". Click "Register". You can see the progress on the "Progress" bar. Once done, click "Close". You should see "DD" is added to "DDMC" under "Infrastructure", then, "Systems".
To see what steps were taken by DDMC during the addition, go to "Health". Click on "Jobs". Select the job and you will see the details. If all of the conditions are met that were mentioned in the start of this video, the addition will be successful.
