Welcome to Dell Technologies RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines How to Series. How to change RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin server certificate.
Reference – Dell Knowledge Article number 189780. This video was created to: Demonstrate how to change RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin server certificate.
When to do this: When the user wants to change the plugin server certificate. When the user wants to use a certificate that has been signed by their organization's internal certificate authority.
Before you begin: Ensure you are able to log in to the plugin server with root credentials. The process is valid for a newly deployed RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin virtual machine which is not configured with RecoverPoint Cluster.
Access RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin server appliance using vSphere Console, and log in with root user. Create backup of the existing "cert" and "key" files located in "/etc/nginx/ssl".
Delete the original files after creating the backup. Disable the firewall and the plugin server by running "/sbin/SuSEfirewall2 off". Upload the "new key" and "cert" to "/etc/nginx/ssl".
Rename them to "rpcentercert" and "rpcenter.key". Reboot the RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin server appliance. Register the plugin server using Web Deployer Manager by selecting option "Configure plugin server".
Enter RecoverPoint HTML5 plugin server appliance IP and "Validate certificate". Once the certificate is validated, press "Configure". After the plugin is properly configured and installed on vCenter, please make sure you turn the firewall on. use the command "/sbin/SuSEfirewall2 on".
