Hello. My name is Marco. I'm the subject matter expert with DELL EMC.
Today, we're going to go over updating a bio using an EF I file. You'll need a removable USB and your EFI file loaded to the root of the directory for that device. The device will need to be plugged in to the actual server. Once you plug in the system and you're ready to start the process, you're going to go ahead and press F 11 during the system set up screen, you're going to go into the boot manager.
You'll want to launch system utilities, files, update, file explorer and you should be able to see your USB connected to the device, whether it's front or back. In this example, we see it's on the front. When you select that, you should see your file, your dot EF I continue the process. And for the sake of the video, we'll go ahead and fast forward as this can take a little bit of time.
It is a bias update depending on your system and the generation the bios screen may be a little bit different. Keep in mind some of the systems that run the EF I file, they could be OEM or CF I config uh the process is still the same. OK. You can see that this bio has taken effect from here.
You should see your system go through a regular post process and then try to boot into the operating system. In my example, I do not have an operating system. So you may see a no boot device found.
Um Aside from that, this is a step you would take if you're unable to update your bias with a regular uh dell update package file or your bin file. An EF I file is another option for you to use. Uh Thank you for your time and that's it. That's how you update your boss using EFI.
