If you’re a Mac user, Dell Display and Peripheral Manager is an all-in-one application to control both displays and peripherals. Select your Mac operating system. Once selected, remember to check the files shown for your display, and click to install. Once successfully installed, Windows users will see the app icon at the bottom right of the display and Mac users will find it at the top right. Your app is now ready to use.
Dell Display Manager is an easy way to adjust the basic settings of your monitor. Use the drop-down menu to select your preferred resolution and refresh rate. Configure brightness and contrast settings easily with the sliders. You can also change text size and orientation and turn “HDR” on or off.
Enable display matrix control when multiple Dell monitors are connected to synchronize color presets, brightness, contrast, and ambient light sensor settings across all monitors. Configure your preferred brightness and contrast levels for any supported preset mode.
Simply right-click the preset mode and select the option to attach or detach the brightness. For monitors with an ambient light sensor, you can turn on “Auto Brightness” and adjust the range. You can also adjust color temperature and sync to a primary monitor in a multi-monitor setup. For monitors without an ambient light sensor, you can use the sliders to schedule a gradual automatic transition of brightness and contrast from day to night profiles and sync between monitors.
Changing settings on a specific monitor is now as simple as dragging the application window across, selecting the monitor from the drop-down list, or placing the mouse pointer at the specific monitor and using the configured hotkey to launch the menu launcher. The “Quick Access” menu launcher for Dell Display Manager is easy to personalize, so you can organize the list of feature settings according to your priorities.
Dell Display Manager helps you maximize your productivity with “Easy Arrange”. Now, you can easily partition your monitor screen to view multiple apps at the same time. No more resizing or toggling between multiple windows and displays to use your favorite applications. Snap applications into a template of your choice by clicking on the “Layout” tab and selecting any of the predefined layouts.
Then, drag and snap your application into place. You can choose from a wide range of predefined layouts and up to five custom layouts. To customize the layout, simply click the pen icon and move the partition line. You can save and reuse the layout at a later time. Recently-used layouts can also be assigned a hotkey. Even more personalization is available from the “Settings” tab. Opt to tile applications across your screen with or without a gap, or only allow zone positioning when the “Shift” key is pressed.
There's also the option to span your chosen layout across all your monitors. Just make sure your monitors are aligned side by side. Switch on the “Application Window Snap” feature and make it even quicker to arrange apps in your preferred configuration thanks to a floating menu containing recently-used layouts. The “Easy Arrange Memory” feature allows you to assign applications and even specific files to the partitions of “Easy Arrange”. Save the layout to create a profile, and then restore the profile when needed. Up to nine profiles can be saved and launched, either manually or automatically, at start-up or at a scheduled time.
So, whichever mode you’re working in, Dell Display Manager helps you to be your most productive, whether you’re collaborating with colleagues, focusing on projects, or unwinding at the end of the day. Dell Display Manager lets you set up your monitor, mouse, and keyboard to work seamlessly between multiple PCs. The USB KVM Wizard helps you to do this more quickly and intuitively than ever before.
Just make sure Dell Display Manager is installed on all the PCs you wish to connect. From the “Input Source” tab, you can select and name the input sources, connect the keyboard and mouse to the monitor, and choose your preferred layout. Full screen, picture-in-picture, or picture-by-picture. Picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture selection allow for flexible layouts across your devices. Quick shortcuts can be assigned, making it easy to control your keyboard and mouse and switch between video inputs.
Once configured, use the shortcuts to switch between your connected PCs. With the “Auto Switch” feature, moving your cursor to the center of the split will automatically switch input controls over to the second PC and vice versa. If at any point you wish to change your KVM settings, you can run the wizard again or change the screen configuration by clicking “Configure Screen”. With KVM set up and configured to your preferences, you can enjoy using two PCs in a single setup seamlessly, even across Windows and macOS platforms, allowing you to work on a laptop while your desktop runs demanding workload applications.
Dell Display Manager helps you to manage and replicate monitor settings across multiple displays, including color settings. Automatically assign color settings to apps from the “Color” tab. Simply select the “Auto” checkbox and add applications from the drop-down menu, assigning the preset mode you require. Alternatively, get a uniform color experience from your monitor by manually selecting a color profile.
Turn on or schedule “Night Light” settings by clicking the “Night Light” shortcut, which will then take you to the relevant Display Settings app. Dell Display Manager offers additional features that enable monitors to be energy efficient, provide a consistent user experience, and help you stay up to date with the latest firmware and software. “PowerNap” energy conservation options are available under “Others” in the menu, allowing you to reduce the brightness of the monitor to the minimum level or to put the monitor to sleep when the screensaver is activated.
Export settings from one monitor and import to another of the same model by simply clicking “Export” to store a copy of the application and monitor settings, and clicking “OK” when the export is successful. To import the settings from a previously exported file, click “Import” and select the file. The monitor settings will be applied to all the connected displays of the same model. The Dell Display Manager application will restart after the file is imported. When an updated version of Dell Display Manager software or monitor firmware is available, you’ll be automatically notified to update. Use the options listed to search and download updates.
Dell Display Manager includes special features for IT admins that make it easy to control settings across multiple monitors in a fleet. On large corporate networks with many monitors, IT admins can use command-line interface commands to perform centralized monitor controls, such as setting brightness levels, performing factory resets, and placing all monitors on low power mode.
If your organization uses SCCM or Intune, Dell Display Manager comes with PowerShell scripts for ease of use. IT admins can then use Dell Display Manager to both identify affected monitors in the fleet and deploy the firmware updates. CLI commands can also query how many monitors have been successfully updated with new firmware. Admins can also customize the cloning of Dell Display Manager settings across the device fleet, and import and export settings of monitors of the same model to help ensure settings are consistent.
Ideal for a hot-desking environment. Additionally, Monitor Asset Management allows IT admins to create asset management reports in specified file formats, return the number of monitors supported by Dell Display Manager software, and retrieve the inventory report. Dell Display Manager offers a wide range of personalization options and device management capabilities for IT admins. Download the free software at dell.com/DDM and elevate your work today.
