Windows 8.1 launches some new features like bringing the start button back to make users feel more at home. By default, you will still boot to the Start screen.
However, if you prefer to boot to a clean desktop free of tiles and with the traditional start bar, Windows 8.1 offers an option for you. Click the 'desktop' tile on the start screen.
Right click anywhere on the task bar and click "Properties". Select the Navigtion tab. In the "Start screen" section, place a checkmark next to When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start.
Click "Apply", then "OK". Restart the system and your changes will take effect. Here is your new desktop. We hope you found this video helpful. If you need additional assistance, please visit dell.com/support.
