How to upgrade client downloads on the EMC Aamer server in reference to EMC Avere client only system upgrades. Technical note upon completion of this course, you should be able to upgrade client downloads on Advir 6.1 or later. Beginning with version 7.0 0.2 the client downloads are not upgraded by the server upgrade.
This must be done separately. Preferably before the Advir server upgrade is performed open the AVAR DTL T webpage by entering Avere host name or AER server IP address in web browser. Click on search button under downloads.
This will show the list of all available client downloads for various operating systems. Check for available client downloads version. In this demonstration. Current version of available client downloads is 7.0 0.101 dash 61.
We will update these client downloads to a newer version, open web browser and enter the Avar host name or Avere server IP address slash A VI and address bar to launch Avere installation manager.
Enter the user name and password to log in to a installation manager. Click log in click software updates button under package list. Currently there is no available package for software update.
You can also check for available software package on Aamir enterprise manager, click system maintenance, click software updates button under software updates package list.
Currently there is no software package available log into avenir utility node using root password. In this demonstration, we are assuming that you have copied the AVP and associated MD fivesome files under slash user slash local slash AR slash source directory.
Change the current directory to slash user slash local slash Aamer slash source list. All the files by using command, LS hyphen LTR, verify that you have copied both the AVP and associated MD fivesome files successfully confirm the MD five sum by typing command MD five.
SU hyphen CN name of MD five, some file it returns, OK. If you are using a web browser to verify MD five sum, use following command MD five sum and name of a VP file intercom command cat, N name of MD five, some file verify that both these strings exactly matches now copy the AVP file to slash data, 01 slash avenir slash repo slash packages directory by using CP command.
Change the current directory to slash data, 01 slash Aamir slash repo slash packages list all the files by using LS command. Verify that you have copied AVP files successfully. After a short time upgrade, client downloads package appears under software updates list on Aamer installation manager.
Same upgrade package can be seen under software updates on Aamer enterprise manager. Installation of this upgrade package can be started from either a installation manager or avenir enterprise manager.
Click install to start the installation process, click continue, installation process starts and progress can be monitored on screen. Installation process may take 80 to 90 minutes to complete once the installation process is 100% completed.
Click go to history page to see installation history to verify. Client downloads have been upgraded successfully launch Avar DTL and click search button under downloads.
Now, the version of available client downloads is 7.0 0.102 dash 47. We have successfully upgraded Avere client downloads to a newer version.
