Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Removing the air shroud:
Hold the edges of the air shroud, and lift the air shroud out of the system.
Removing the GPU card:
Remove the screws securing the GPU card.
Hold the GPU card by the edges, and pull the card until the card edge connector disengages from the connector on the expansion card slot.
If you are removing the GPU card permanently, install filler brackets over the empty slot openings, and use the screws to secure the filler brackets to the system.
NOTE:You must install a filler bracket over an empty expansion card slot to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system . The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the system. The filler bracket is necessary to maintain proper thermal conditions.
Installing the GPU card:
If installed, remove the filler brackets.
NOTE: Store the filler bracket for future use. Filler brackets must be installed in empty expansion card slots to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the system.
Remove the screws securing the filler brackets and remove the filler brackets from the system.
Hold the GPU card by the edges, and align the card edge connector with the expansion card connector on the system board.
Insert the GPU card into the expansion card slot on the system board, until it is firmly seated.
Use the screws to secure the GPU card to the system.
Installing the air shroud:
Align the tabs on the air shroud with the guide pins on the system.
Lower the air shroud into the system, until firmly seated.
Replace the system cover.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
