Prerequisites
Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.
Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system .
Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If installed, remove the front bezel. For more information, see Removing the front bezel .
Remove the system cover.
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
Removing the cooling-fan assembly
Unlock the cooling-fan assembly from the chassis by lifting the release levers upward.
Lift the cooling-fan assembly out of the chassis.
Installing the cooling-fan assembly:
Align the cooling-fan assembly slots with the guide pins on the chassis.
Slide the cooling-fan assembly into the chassis.
Lock the cooling-fan assembly into the chassis by lowering the release levers until firmly seated.
Install the system cover. For more information, see Installing the system cover .
Install the optional bezel. For more information, see Installing the front bezel .
Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and peripherals.
Turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
