How to create a manual repository using Dell repository manager. After opening up repository manager, go to the ad repository tab, give you a repository name. We'll call this one data center one and you can give it a description and you can select your base cat catalog that you want to create your repository from. We're going to use the latest available from Dell. Now, doe recommends that if you're using one of our tools that you use the integration option to create repositories because this will give you a very specific repository that's customized to your exact uh environment. But we understand that that's not always possible or it may not be your preference.
So we've had the manual option within the manual option. You can select custom and here you can choose the systems that you have in your data center and we'll just select a, a sample, maybe have some M 6 30 P. And we'll also use the keyword search to look at our 66 XX series. So you have some six twenties, some six forties. You've recently added some six fifties, maybe you have some of the 700 SE series and you've recently added some R seven fifties.
So easy way for you to go in and, and select which platforms that you have in your data center. Select save next, we'll come down and choose our operating systems. We're going to select Windows 64. Uh We have some systems that are running Linux. So we'll select Linux as well. And since I have some blade chassis, uh we're gonna select OS independent and it's easy to just sluck safe and we can come in and customize our components as well.
We want this repository to have firmware and bio in it. We're not interested in applications and we do driver updates through another process just as an example. Now, within course, firmware and bios, we do want to make sure that we have bios and you'll see that when you selected it, it's moved over to the selected devices. I'm interested in it. Track, I have networking cards. So I'm interested in that. I have SAS and I have SAS drives.
So that's the, the devices that I want to include. Um Of course, I could select all and it's like safe and s lucked out. And now you can see that we have a repository with the platforms that you selected with Windows and Linux uh versions of, of each bundle.
