Welcome to em CvN X. How to session, how to expand a concatenated meta. This is in reference to support solution article EMC 21317. This presentation demonstrates how to expand a concatenated matter. One, there are two ways to expand the meta method. One, striping, striping blends one or more lungs into a single structure. Existing data must be retried across the newly formed L the time required to re stripe is proportional to the amount of existing data. Additional space becomes available only after re striping is complete method. Two concatenation, concatenation links when there are more lungs together, existing data structures remain in place.
Additional space is available immediately log into unisphere, enter the credentials and click log in in the uni sphere dashboard, click array, select storage, click LS the lines 1011 12 which are of 10 GB, L 13 and 14 are five and three GB respectively. In this video, we consider L Tena's base line which needs to be expanded, select and right. Click on London 10, click expand. Click next. At first we select the striping method. Click next, select the line of same size and from a similar ray type. Continue clicking next for default settings. Click finish. Now the L is displayed with new capacity to see the lung status after the stripe expansion, right? Click on L 10.
Select show component lens component zero under which L 10 and line 11 are present in striping, duly added lungs would be added under the last component of a melon. Now we will add line 12 to check the matter line properties, right? Click on L 10, click expand, click next, select the option as striping and click. Next, click yes, to confirm, expand storage, select the line of same size and from similar ray type and click next for default settings. Click finish. The initial expanding state can be seen after the expansion completes. The ready state is displayed along with the new user capacity. In order to check the L is placed after the stripe expansion, right? Click on L 10 select show component lens. Here we see a component zero.
When component zero is expanded, the newly added one is visible inside the component zero. Now we will see how the concatenation works. The current user capacity of the L is 30 GB. Now we'll expand this line by adding five GB and see how this is seen under me. An 10 select and right. Click on 10 select, expand, click next select concatenation, click next select required London. Continue clicking next for default settings, click finish. The new user capacity is displayed. Let's see how the new L is placed after the concatenation expansion. Right click on L 10 select show component lens.
We find component zero and component one expand component zero and component one, the newly added lun is added under component one. In concatenation, new component would be created under which newly added lens would be visible. The current user capacity of the L 10 is 35 GB now expand this meta L 10 by adding three GB L using concatenation method and see how this is seen under meta L 10 select and right click on 10 select, expand, click next select concatenation and continue clicking next for default settings. Click finish. This is the new user capacity.
In order to check the new lun is placed after the concatenation expansion. Right? Click on L 10 select show component lens expand the three components, component zero, component one and component two. The newly added one is under component too.
