Backing up and restoring your device is not something you want to think about, But it is nice to be prepared if your tablet starts having issues. This video will help you understand the steps necessary to back up your important data And, if needed, restore the device to factory settings.
To enable your backup settings, tap the All Apps icon in the bottom-middle of the Main screen. Scroll to the Settings icon, and tap the icon. In the navigation list on the left, tap Backup and reset. Make sure Back up my data is checked. This will store Wifi passwords, bookmarks, app data, and other settings On Google's servers.
To disable, uncheck Back up my data and tap OK. On this screen, you can also select the Google account You wish to have your backup saved to. Or, you can tap Add account to add a different account. You can also see what specifically is being backed up with Google from the Settings screen.
Scroll through the navigation bar and settings and tap Google under Accounts On the left-hand side. On the right-hand side, the accounts associated with the device Will be listed. Tap the account you wish to check backup settings for. You will see a list of data currently being synced with Google.
Make sure the appropriate check boxes are checked. For example, if you want contacts synced, make sure the check box next to it is checked. If you need to return your tablet to its out-of-the-box state, You can perform a factory data reset. Before you get started, it is recommended to plug your tablet into its charger.
Then, on your tablet, go to Settings and choose Backup and reset from the navigation bar. Tap Factory data reset. Remember, you will need to have backed up personal files like music and pictures If you wish to save them. The next screen is the last warning you will receive before resetting the tablet.
