The Dell logo screen appears soon after the system is turned on. but what if the system does not go past the screen? Here's something you can do to fix this.
Devices such as pen drives and CDs left in the tray could also cause the computer to freeze on the Dell logo screen. Disconnect all peripheral devices such as printers, pendrives or port replicators if connected Then start your computer and check again. Sometimes residual power in the system could cause it to freeze at the Dell logo screen.
Once it is released the computer usually boots to Windows. Here's how we do it. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery, if accessible. Press and hold down the power button for five to eight seconds.
Release the power button. Insert the battery, and connect the AC adapter. Power on the system now and check if the system boots to Windows. Enter the system set up by hitting the 'F2' key.
Look under the boot or maintenance tab and set the hard drive as the primary boot device, if not already set. Save the changes and exit to restart the computer Observe if the computer boots to Windows.
