Prerequisites
Ensure that you follow the Safety Instruction.
Ensure that your work surface is flat and clean to prevent the computer cover from being scratched.
Turn off your computer.
Disconnect all network cables from the computer.
CAUTION:To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your computer and then unplug the cable from the network device.
Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Press and hold the power button while the computer is unplugged to ground the system board.
NOTE:To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface at the same time as touching a connector on the back of the computer.
Removing the side cover:
Loosen the two captive screws and slide the side cover to release it from the chassis.
Lift the side cover, off the chassis.
Removing the front bezel:
Gently pry and release the front bezel tabs sequentially from the top.
Rotate the front cover outward from the chassis.
Removing the HDD/ODD bracket:
Release the ODD power and SATA cables from tabs on the side of the ODD bracket.
Remove the single #6-32 screw securing the ODD bracket to the chassis.
Lift the ODD bracket from the chassis.
Push the ODD to unlock it.
Disconnect the SATA power and data connectors from the ODD.
Lift and remove the ODD bracket from the chassis.
Removing the power-supply unit:
Lay the computer on the right side.
Disconnect the power cables from the system board and remove them from the routing guides on the chassis.
Remove the three (#6-32) screws that secure the power-supply unit to the chassis.
Press the securing clip and slide the power-supply unit away from the back of the chassis.
Lift the power-supply unit off the chassis.
Installing the power-supply unit:
lide the power-supply unit into the chassis until the securing tab snaps into position.
Replace the three screws (#6-32) that secure the power-supply unit to the chassis.
Route the power cable through the routing guides on the chassis and connect the power cables to their respective connectors on the system board.
Installing the HDD/ODD bracket:
Align and place the ODD bracket on the system unit chassis and connect the ODD SATA and power connectors
Push the ODD bracket into the chassis.
Snap the ODD bracket aligning the holes on the ODD bracket with that on the chassis.
Replace the single #6-32 screw securing the ODD to the chassis.
Tuck the power SATA cables along the tabs of the ODD bracket.
Installing the front bezel:
Align the tabs on the bezel with the slots on the chassis.
Rotate the front cover towards the chassis and snap it into place.
Installing the side cover:
Align the tabs on the side cover with the slots and replace the side cover on the chassis.
Slide the side cover towards the front of the unit and tighten the two cap screws to secure the side cover to the chassis.
Connect any telephone or network cables to your computer.
CAUTION:To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network device and then plug it into the computer.
Connect your computer and all attached devices to their electrical outlets.
Turn on your computer.
If required, verify that the computer works correctly by running ePSA diagnostics.
