How To Unlock PowerProtect Data Manager Admin User OS Account using the Web Console

In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to unlock the local OS admin account in PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) after it has been locked due to failed login attempts. Whether you’re a seasoned IT professional or just getting started, this step-by-step guide will help you regain access to your PPDM server.

In this radio, we will learn how to unlock PPDM local US admin account as prerequisites. You should have access to the VM virtual center UI and you will also need root credentials for the PPDM host. As you can see local admin account has been locked after four failed attempts to log on to a PPDM server to unlock this account.

We need to log on to resent user interface, select PPDM and virtual machine and select "Launch Web Console". Now log on to PPDM server using local root account and use "pam_tally" to command to unlock or reset admin account. The last step is to test if we can log on to PPDM using local admin account remotely.
