In this video we will be replacing a 2U Standby Power Supply Battery Pack in a VNX8000. Here it will be the battery pack on the B side of the SPS for the vault DAE. After you’ve identified the faulted battery pack, which should show an amber status LED, you would remove the SPS battery pack.
On the front of the SPS the color wheel shows green, as the faulted battery pack is still fully engaged. The latch to disengage the battery pack is right below the color wheel. Push the latch on the lower right to release the battery pack. Grasping the battery pack by its handle, pull the battery pack from the enclosure.
You will see the color wheel display red, meaning the battery pack is not installed. To install the replacement SPS battery pack, grasp the battery pack by its handle, with the LED on the right, and slide the battery pack into the slot in the front of the SPS enclosure.
The battery pack clicks into place and the status indicator above the latch shows yellow, indicating that the battery pack is parked, but not fully engaged. Now connect the battery pack by pressing the pack’s trigger, while pushing the battery pack completely into the slot. The battery pack clicks into the final position, and the status indicator shows green, indicating that the battery pack is fully engaged and connected.
