In this video we have a look at how to raise a Parts Only Service Call via the Dell Support website. Before beginning the steps in the video, first navigate to www.dell.com/support and login to your Dell Account. After the login is successful search for the Service Tag of the system you wish to raise the service request for.
To request a parts only service. Open contact us and click start chat, type in your contact information and click start chat. The virtual assistant will load, welcome you to the chat and access your system information. Choose your faulty part and confirm the system location.
Let the assistant know if you have already generated the TSR logs. If you select no, the assistant can help you generate the logs. The assistant will ask if the logs are less than one day old. If they are, you will be prompted to upload them, click on attachment and add the files, click on upload and then close.
When finished, when the assistant receives the logs, it will take a few minutes to analyze them. Once analyzed, the assistant will confirm the faulty part, select the parts only service and fill out the form with your contact information.
Once the form is completed, click submit and confirm the validated address. Wait for the assistant to create the work order request. Confirm if the assistant resolved your query. Once you receive your work order number and the parts shipped information.
