Download and install SupportAssist from dell.com/supportassist. Ensure your laptop is plugged in and use SupportAssist to find and update outdated drivers. After installation, restart your computer to complete the process.
To download SupportAssist, open a web browser and go to dell.com/supportassist. Select “SupportAssist for Home PCs” and click on “Download Now.” Open the file when it finishes downloading and follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
Before you update drivers with SupportAssist, make sure your computer stays connected to its power source throughout this process. Click on the Windows “Start” button to search for and open SupportAssist. In the “Home” tab, click “Update software,” then press “Start.” Wait for SupportAssist to find outdated drivers. When drivers have been located, click on “View updates” to see all available driver updates. Click on “Install” and wait for SupportAssist to download and install the drivers.
The computer will require a restart to complete the process. After the restart, the PC will boot into Windows as normal.
