This video shows you how to unbox and set up your Dell UltraSharp Webcam. Ensure that your computer has an active Internet connection for an optimal setup experience.
To begin, peel the seal off the box and open the box. Inside the box, you’ll find the Dell UltraSharp Webcam, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a tripod adapter, a webcam mount, the Warranty Information document, the Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Information, and the Quick Start Guide.
Now, let’s mount the webcam on our monitor and set it up. Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the USB-C port on the webcam. Ensure that the USB-C connector is completely inserted into the port of the webcam. Align and insert the webcam mount head into the slot on the webcam.
Open the base of the webcam mount, and then place the webcam onto the monitor. Then, adjust the webcam so it sits well on the monitor. You can tilt the webcam up and down to adjust the frame. Next, remove the magnetic lens cap from the webcam and attach it to the back of the webcam. Now, let’s connect the webcam to your computer.
Connect the type-A side of the USB cable to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. You have successfully connected the webcam to your computer and it is ready to use.
You will now see the “Dell Peripheral Manager” screen pop up in a few seconds. If the Dell Peripheral Manager setup screen does not pop up, you may download the application from: Dell.com/Support/Drivers. The Peripheral Manager helps to manage your webcam efficiently and includes additional customization options.
Follow the on-screen instructions on the Dell Peripheral Manager application to complete the initial setup. Click “Get Started”. Choose a preset that suits you best, and then click “Next”. You should see the preview of the presets in effect on the right panel. You can enable “Auto-Framing” to ensure the camera always keeps you in the center of the frame. Click “Next” to continue the setup.
Enable “High Dynamic Range” or HDR to get optimal image quality in extreme lighting conditions. You can also enable the webcam to unlock the computer in your presence or lock it when you walk away.
Select the options that best suit your needs and click “Next”. To see more customization options available within the Dell Peripheral Manager, click “More Settings”. You have now successfully set up the Dell UltraSharp Webcam on your computer.
The webcam can also be mounted onto a tripod using the tripod adapter provided in the box. Place the tripod adapter on the mounting screw of the tripod. Rotate the tripod adapter until it is secured firmly onto the tripod. Remove the webcam along with the webcam mount from the monitor.
Then, disconnect the webcam mount from the webcam. Align and insert the tripod adapter head into the slot on the webcam. For more information, see Dell.com/Support/Manuals.
