How to download and install Dell Backup and Recovery -- WIN 7 Keeping your computer running and your personal information safe from unexpected errors is very important. Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) is an easy to use program available to help you with those tasks.
Before installing Dell Backup and Recovery, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements on screen. If you have a new computer, DBAR is probably already installed. But if you have to reinstall Windows without using DBAR, you may want to load it again.
Before I load it on this computer, I am going to look for and remove any older versions of Dell's backup software. To do that, I'll open Control Panel > choose Programs and Features. Here I have an older version of Dell Backup and Recovery. I will click on it and choose Uninstall. (Allow the computer to restart) Before I install DBAR, I am going to close any open applications and save any work. Click Download Dell Backup and Recovery.
On this page, I will click Download File. It should start downloading immediately. When it completes, I am going to Run the file to start the installation. Here Windows is asking if I want to allow DBAR to make any changes to my computer. I will click Next and then Install to start it loading.
It may take several minutes for it to complete. When it does, I have to restart my computer for it to finish. To launch Dell Backup and Recovery, double-click the icon on the Desktop.
