And finally, hardware failure. The first step is to check audio settings in Windows. Ensure your sound is not turned down or on mute. Right-click the Speaker icon and select Open Volume Mixer. Ensure Mute is off, and volume levels are up.
Then, confirm the correct playback device is selected. Type "sound" in the Search bar and select it from the listed results. Choose the correct device and click the Set Default button.
