Removing WLAN card:
Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
a)Removing base cover:
Loosen the M2.5*6.3 captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer [1].
Pry the base cover from the edge and lift the base cover away from the computer [2].
NOTE You may need a plastic scribe to pry the base cover from the edges.
b)Removing battery:
Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board [1].
Remove the M2*6 captive screw that secures the battery to the computer [2].
NOTE The number of screws will vary depending on the type of battery installed.
Lift the battery from the computer [3].
NOTE Discharge the battery as much as possible before removing from the system. This can be done by disconnecting the A/C adapter from the system (while the system is turned on) to allow the system to drain the battery.
Unroute the cable from the routing channel [1] and remove the cable from the battery.
To remove the WLAN card:
Remove the M2*3 screw that secures the WLAN card to the computer [1].
Remove the metal bracket that secures the WLAN cables [2].
Disconnect the WLAN cables from the connectors on the WLAN card [3].
Lift the WLAN card away from the connector [4].
Installing WLAN card:
Insert the WLAN card into the connector on the system board.
Connect the WLAN cables to the connectors on the WLAN card.
Place the metal bracket to secure the WLAN cables.
Tighten the M2*3 screw to secure the WLAN card to the computer.
Installing battery:
Insert the battery into the slot on the computer.
Route the battery cable through the routing channels.
Tighten the M2*6 captive screw to secure the battery to the computer.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Installing base cover:
Place the base cover to align with the screw holders on the computer.
Tighten the M2.5 captive screws to secure the base cover to the computer.
After working inside your computer:
Connect any external devices, such as a port replicator or media base, and replace any cards, such as an ExpressCard.
Connect any telephone or network cables to your computer.
CAUTION To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network device and then plug it into the computer.
Connect your computer and all attached devices to their electrical outlets.
Turn on your computer.
