This video shows how to replace the M.22280 Solid State Drive, or SSD on an Insperron 145425. Before you begin, create a recovery drive and back up all data before removing the M.22280 SSD. Power off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals and ensure that you always use EST protection when working inside the computer. To begin, loosen the two captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm resting keyboard assembly.
Then remove the 5 screws that secure the base cover to the palm resting keyboard assembly. Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the top left of the hinge. And then continue to work on the sides to open the base cover. Slide and lift the base cover off the palm resting keyboard assembly. Now disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Then turn the computer over. And open the display. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power. Turn the computer over to locate the M.22280 SSD.
Remove the screw that secures the M.2 2280 SSD to the palm resting keyboard assembly. Slide the M.22280 SSD out of the SSD slot and lift it off the system board. You've successfully removed the M.22280 SSD from SSD slot. Now let's install the M.22280 SSD. Locate the notch on the SSD. Then align the notch with a tab on the SSD slot. Slide the SSD into the slot on the system board.
Now replace the screw that secures the M.22280 SSD to the palm resting keyboard assembly. Connect the battery cable to the system board. Then place and snap the face cover into place on the Palmerston keyboard assembly. Tighten the two captive screws. Then replace the five screws that secure the base cover to the Palmersing keyboard assembly.
