In this video, we will demonstrate how to remove and install the M.2 2230 Solid-State Drive or SSD. Before removing the SSD, read through the safety guidelines to protect your computer from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.

Turn off your computer and disconnect all attached peripherals. To get started, turn the computer over. Loosen the two captive screws and remove the seven screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Using the flat end of a plastic scribe pry the base cover from the right hinge or pry points and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift and remove the base cover away from the computer. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board. Turn the computer over and open the display.
Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power. After draining the flea power close the display and turn the computer over.
Now, let’s remove the M.2 2230 from the SSD slot one. Remove the single screw that secures the SSD thermal plate to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Now, remove the SSD thermal plate. Remove the single screw that secures the SSD to the palm rest and keyboard assembly and gently slide the SSD from the SSD slot one.
You have now successfully removed the M.2 2230 SSD. Now, let’s see how to install the M.2 2230 SSD. To begin, insert the SSD at an angle into the dedicated SSD one slot on the system board.
Replace the single screw to secure the SSD into its slot. Align and place the thermal plate over the SSD. Now, replace and tighten the single screw to secure the SSD thermal plate along with the SSD, to the system board.
You have now successfully installed the M.2 2230 SSD. Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board. Align and place the base cover on the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Gently press around the edges and sides of the base cover until it clicks into place. Now, tighten the two captive screws and replace the seven screws to secure the base cover to the computer.
