In this video, we will demonstrate how to remove and install the wireless card. Before you begin, ensure that you turn off your computer and disconnect all attached peripherals.
Remove the base cover and disconnect the battery cable. To remove the base cover, first loosen the six captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer base to open up a gap between the two parts. Starting from the middle of the bottom side, lift open the base cover with your fingertips. Release the tabs on the base cover from the slots on the computer base. Then, slide the base cover off the computer base.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Turn the computer over and open the display. Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board. Now, let’s remove the wireless card. Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board Slide and remove the wireless card bracket from the wireless card. Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card. Slide and remove the wireless card from the wireless card slot.
You have successfully removed the wireless card. Now let’s see how to install the wireless card. To avoid damage to the wireless card, ensure that you do not place any cables under it. Connect the antenna cables to the wireless card. Slide and replace the wireless card bracket on the wireless card. Align the notch on the wireless card with the tab on the wireless card slot, and insert the wireless card at an angle into the slot.
Replace the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board. Once the wireless card is installed, connect the battery cable to the system board. Slide the tabs on the base cover into the slots on the computer base and snap the base cover into place. Tighten the six captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer base.
