Here's how to deploy an OS using the iDRAC8 Lifecycle Controller. You'll need OS install media or an ISO, and must have previously installed drivers for OS deployment.
Log in to the iDRAC Web UI, then launch the Virtual Console. If you're installing from an ISO, open the "Virtual Media" menu, select "Connect Virtual Media", then "Map CD/DVD". Click,"Browse", select your ISO, then click "Map Device".
In the "Next Boot" menu, select "Lifecycle Controller", Then power on, or restart the system. In the Lifecycle Controller, select "OS Deployment", then "Deploy OS". Select "Configure RAID First" if you haven't already done so, or continue.
Set the boot options, and select the OS to install. Select "Manual Install". If you've already mounted Virtual Media, or inserted physical media, click next. Review your settings, then click "Finish" to reboot the system and begin OS installation.
