In this video we show how to replace the right control panel on a PowerEdge R660xs. Before removing the right control panel, read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.
For more information about safety guidelines, see the R660xs Service Manual at: Dell.com/support In order to remove the right control panel, you must first remove the cover, air shroud and drive backplane cover.
To remove the cover, use a screwdriver to rotate the lock counterclockwise to the unlocked position. Next lift the release latch until the system cover slides back. Then lift the cover from the system. To remove the air shroud, hold the air shroud at both ends and lift the air shroud out of the system.
To remove the drive backplane cover, slide it toward the rear and lift it away from the system. To remove the right control panel, disconnect the cable from the system board. Next remove the screws that secure it to the system. Then slide it away from the system to remove.
To install the right control panel, align and slide it into the slot on the system. Next tighten the screws to secure the it to the system. Then route the cable, and connect it to the system board. To install the drive backplane cover, align and lower it into the system and then slide it toward the front of the system.
To install the air shroud align it with the chassis and lower it until firmly seated. To install the cover, align the system cover with the guide slots on the system and place it one the system. Next, close the system cover release latch.
Finally, using a screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position. For more information or support visit Dell.com/Support.
