Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
If installed, remove the front bezel cover.
Remove the system cover.
Removing the primary drive bay assembly:
Loosen the blue thumb screw located at the rear of the assembly.
Slide the assembly towards the front to unlock the assembly.
Lift the assembly out of the server.
Removing the BOSS riser:
Hold the BOSS riser by its edges, and pull the riser until the riser edge connector disengages from the expansion card connector on the system board.
Installing the BOSS riser:
Hold the edges of the BOSS riser, and align the slots on the BOSS riser to the guide pin on the system.
Insert the riser edge connector firmly into the system board connector until the riser is fully seated.
Installing the primary drive bay assembly:
Insert the backplane assembly into the guides in chassis and slide the assembly towards the rear to lock the assembly.
Tighten the blue thumb screw to secure the assembly with chassis.
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals, and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
NOTE If front bezel is installed, then en route the external cables through the openings on the sides of bezel tray.
If removed, install the front bezel cover.
