Find the Service Tag of Your Dell Thin Client

Dell uses product identifiers such as Service Tag, Express Service Code, or Serial Number to access product information like technical specifications, documentation, warranty. Get personalized support options by identifying your Dell product using the Service Tag, Express Service Code, or Serial Number.

  • Service Tag is a seven alphanumeric code.
  • Express Service Code is a 10 to 11 digit, numeric version of a Service Tag.

NOTE: Dell accessories and devices such as keyboard, mouse, headset, external hard drive, do not have a Service Tag or Express Service Code. Identify these devices using the model number on Dell.com/support to access product documentation. Dell technical support can identify such products using the Dell order number. Using the Service Tag or Product Information label

On Dell OptiPlex or Wyse Thin Clients, the Service Tag label is located on the back panel of the device. The product information label with the Service Tag or Serial Number is available on a pull tab located on the back panel of legacy Wyse devices.

On Dell mobile thin clients, the Service Tag label is located on the back cover.

Find the Service Tag of a legacy Wyse product

Legacy Wyse systems have a unique serial number. With legacy Wyse products now serviceable through the Dell network, each product is assigned a unique Service Tag. Look up the Service Tag on the Dell Warranty Status Tool.

  1. Go to the Dell Warranty Status Tool page.
  2. Enter the serial number of the Wyse product in the product ID field.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. 4. The Service Tag appears in an alert box.

NOTE: The Service Tag can be identified from the Wyse Serial Number (BIOS) or Wyse "SID" on the label (xxxAyyyyyy). In both instances, if the fourth character in the Wyse Serial Number or SID is "A", then the last seven digits of the Serial Number is the Service Tag.
