It includes instructions on how to delete certain folders and edit registry entries. The guide also provides information on how to reinstall the software from Dell Support and how to install additional components required for the features to work correctly.
In order to fix the Alienware Command Center, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the software. In this video, we will walk you through that process.
Start by uninstalling the application from the "programs and features" menu in the Control Panel. Now, open File Explorer and in the address bar, type in the following command and press "Enter".
If there is an Alienware folder, delete it. Do the same thing with this command, and delete any "Alienware" folder you see. Now, go to "C:/Program Files/Alienware", and only delete the "Alienware Command Center" folder.
If there are any older versions of the Command Center on your system, they will be located in "C:/Program Files(x86)", so be sure to check those folders as well.
Now, navigate to the "Documents" folder and delete the "Alienware FX" and the "Alienware TactX" folders. The next step is to edit some registry entries.
To do this, open the registry editor by typing "regedit" into the search bar at the bottom of your screen and press "Enter". Navigate to the folder name displayed on the screen.
Delete the following folders: AlienFXMediaPlugin, "Alienware AlienFX", "CCPlugins", and "Command Center". Now, let's move on to this folder displayed on the screen.
In here, delete the folders: AlienFXMediaPlugin, "Alienware AlienFX", and "Command Center". It is OK if you do not see any of these folders. You can now exit the registry editor and restart the system.
Now it's time to reinstall the Alienware Command Center. To do this, go to "Dell.com/support". Click on "Browse all products", and then select a system model from the list of Alienware systems.
Then go to "Drivers & Downloads" and click on "Find drivers". In the "Category" field, select "Application". Then scroll down and find the Alienware Command Center application.
Click on "Download". Once the file downloads, open it. Follow all the installation steps onscreen to complete the process. Lastly, open the program and allow it to install the additional components required for the different features to work correctly.
