In this video, we’ll show you how to unbox and set up your Dell Silent Keyboard and Mouse, KM555. To begin, tear the seal off and open the box. Inside, you'll find the Dell Silent Keyboard, Dell Silent Mouse, and a pack containing one AA battery, two AAA batteries, a Quick Start Guide, and the Warranty, Safety, and Regulatory document. The Dell Secure Link USB receiver is located inside the mouse. Before using the Dell Silent Keyboard, install the batteries by turning over the keyboard, removing the cover, inserting the two AAA batteries, and replacing the cover. Press the keyboard feet to open and extend it.
Before using the mouse, install the AA battery by prying open the cover, inserting the battery, and removing the USB receiver if you want to pair your keyboard and mouse with your computer using the USB receiver. Align the cover and snap it into place. You’re now ready to pair your keyboard and mouse with your computer. You can pair them using the USB receiver or with Bluetooth through the Smart Connect feature. To pair with the USB receiver, connect it to the USB-A port on your computer. Slide the power switch on your keyboard to the right to turn it on, and turn the mouse over to slide its power switch on. The connection-mode LED on the keyboard and mouse will turn on for 30 seconds and then turn off. Your keyboard and mouse are now paired with your computer using the USB receiver, and you are ready to use them.
To pair your keyboard and mouse using Bluetooth, open the Bluetooth and other devices window on your computer and turn on Bluetooth if it’s off. If the USB receiver is not detected when you turn on the keyboard and mouse, you can connect them via Bluetooth. It is recommended to use Dell Pair to pair your keyboard and mouse if it’s preinstalled on your computer. To pair using Dell Pair, press the connection-mode button on your mouse for 3 seconds until the connection-mode LED two turns on. This LED will blink for 3 minutes while trying to pair. When the "Let’s set up your Dell Mouse" window appears, click Pair to confirm the process. Follow similar steps to pair your keyboard.
If your computer does not have Dell Pair preinstalled, you can pair the keyboard and mouse using Swift Pair. Ensure that the “Show notifications to connect using Swift Pair” box is selected. Initiate the same pairing process as in Dell Pair by pressing and holding the connection-mode button. When the "New Dell MS355 found" window appears, click Connect to confirm the pairing. Follow similar steps to pair your keyboard. If the mouse was not automatically detected via Bluetooth, go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth, select Dell MS355, and click Done. Confirm the pairing process on both the mouse and your computer, then follow similar steps to pair your keyboard.
