How to access messages in the POWEREDGE server system event log. There are several ways to verify this log which contains chronologically sorted error messages. Here we will show you messages on how to read the information and retrieve the log if possible.
The first method is used for servers of 11th generation and older during start up press control and e to access the configuration utility during post from the main menu, navigate to system event log, menu and press enter. Here. There are two options available for the system event logs, select view system event log and press enter using the arrow keys. You can now scroll through the individual entries in the server event log shown on the screen.
Another method to access these event logs is via the Idrac web interface. In this example, we will log into the Idrac using the default settings once on the main dashboard, select maintenance and then select event log. Alternatively, you'll find system event log here in the maintenance menu.
The system's events should now be shown. The final method. I'm going to show you is by accessing the system setup menu, tap F two during post to access the system setup menu, select idra settings from the main menu. Now select system event log here. You can see the number of logs recorded and can view the logs by selecting system event log and that's it.
