This video shows how to replace the back cover on Inspiron 24 5410, 5411, 5415, and 27 7710 All-in-One computers. Before you begin, power off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals, remove any SD card installed in the SD card slot on your computer. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer.
To begin, place your computer on an elevated, clean, and flat surface. Place the display flat on the surface with the stand hanging over the edge. It is recommended to remove the stand to avoid accidental damage to the computer display while servicing. To remove a stand, locate the tab on the stand, and push a scribe into the tab. This will release the stand from the display-assembly base. Similarly, remove the other stand.
Next, remove the back cover. To do so, place your palm in the middle of the back cover, and then pry the back cover from the display-assembly base starting from the top corners. Then, lift the cover off the base. You have successfully removed the back cover. Now, let’s install the back cover. Align the slots on the back cover with the slots on the computer, and press along the sides to snap it into place.
Next, insert the stand into the slot on the back cover until it snaps into place on the display-assembly base. In a similar way, fix the other stand. The back cover installation process is now complete. You can now connect all the peripherals. If you need more information or assistance, go to dell.com/support.
