Tutorial on Playing a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player

You can use Windows Media Player to play most kinds of CDs and DVDs, including data disks that contain media files. To play a CD or DVD, simply insert the disk in the computer's disk drive.

Usually Windows Media Player will open in now playing mode and the disk will automatically begin playing. If the disk doesn't play or if you want to play a disk that's already in the drive, click the Start button, type Windows Media Player in the Search box, and then click Windows Media Player on the start menu.

In the player library, double click the disk name in the navigation pane to play the disk. If you've inserted a DVD, you'll need to click a title or chapter name on the DVD's menu to play content on the disk. For example, you can usually click.
