In this video, we will demonstrate how to download and install SupportAssist for PCs. Generally, SupportAssist is pre-installed on all Dell PCs and tablets with the Windows 10 operating system.
However, if you do not have SupportAssist installed on your system, you can download and install SupportAssist from dell.com/SupportAssist. Before you install SupportAssist, ensure: Your system meets the minimum requirements required for installing and using SupportAssist. Some of the minimum system requirements are: 2 GB RAM and 1 GB free of hard drive space.
For information about the minimum system requirements, refer to the SupportAssist for PCs User’s Guide available at Dell.com/Serviceabilitytools. Also insure that you have administrator rights on the system.
To begin, go to dell.com/supportassist and then click the Available Versions tab. Under the SupportAssist for PCs at Home section, click the Learn More link. Click Download Now to download the SupportAssist installer file. Save and run the file to download the appropriate installer package.
After the installer package is downloaded, the SupportAssist installation is automatically initiated. A shortcut to SupportAssist is created on the desktop during the installation. On systems with operating system build number greater than or equal to 16299, the shortcut icon is not created.

After the installation is complete and the Setup complete message is displayed, click Launch to open SupportAssist.
Now that you have installed SupportAssist, you must create a SupportAssist profile to receive the automated support capabilities available for your service plan. To learn how to create a SupportAssist profile, see the Creating a SupportAssist profile video.
You can click the settings icon on the top-right corner to configure your internet, notifications, and privacy settings. You can also schedule an automated SupportAssist scan from the Settings page. SupportAssist is available in 24 different languages. After installing SupportAssist, you can change the language based on your preference.
