Learn how to install and configure the NetWorker License Server on a Linux platform in this step-by-step guide. You will need a license in order to finish the process. These are available at //licensing.dell.com. For more detailed information, refer to the official Dell NetWorker Licensing Guide click here.
Welcome to our guide on installing Dell NetWorker Licensing Server on a Linux Platform. Visit Dell.com/support and search for NetWorker. On the Networker product page, make sure you are logged in, in order to see all available downloads. Navigate to Drivers & Downloads, type License, select 'Show recommended downloads only' and download the 'Dell License Server file for RHEL'.
It is recommended that you install the license server rpm using the root user account. Once installed, verify that the License Server installation path has been created by using 'ls -l /opt/dellemc/' to show the installation path. To obtain a license, visit licensing.dell.com Copy the license file to the 'licenses' folder within the license server installation path.
Verify that the license server folder contains the 'lmutil' and 'lmgrd' binaries. Use 'systemctl' to start the license server service. Verify the service has been started successfully using 'systemctl status'. You can now add the license to NetWorker Server, using the Management Console or Web UI. We have this covered in a separate video. For further information, please refer to the NetWorker Licensing Guide found at dell.com/manuals.
