This video discusses the licenses required to successfully deploy the Dell EMC IDPA DP4400 appliance in your data center. The DP4400 appliance offers a complete backup solution – with deduplication, replication, and recovery – including cloud disaster recovery and long-term retention, all packed in a single 2U rack server.
In this video, we cover the licensing requirements for the DP4400 appliance. The appliance is comprised of various components. Licenses are exclusively required for the protection storage, backup server and reporting and analytics components.
The other components are implicitly licensed with the appliance on Dell EMC software licensing central search using the PS and T number and then follow the standard activation process to activate and download the license keys. Alternatively, you can use the license authorization code number commonly known as lack to activate the download and license keys.
The contact person mentioned on your sales order receives the lack letter through an email during the order fulfillment process. The lack letter includes the lack number associated with your order, instructions for downloading software, binaries and instructions for activating the entitlements online through Dell EMC software licensing central. After the activation is complete.
Download the license files that are generated for the protection storage DD backup server, ad E and for the reporting and analytics. DPA components. You may have to use these license files during the IDPA configuration. For more information on prerequisites visit the DP4400 support page at dell.com/support.
