In this video, we demonstrate how to create and manage a device group. We also demonstrate how to enable and disable maintenance mode for devices within a device group. In this video, we demonstrate how to create and manage custom device groups in secure connect gateway. We also demonstrate how to enable or disable maintenance mode for the devices in the group. To begin, let’s create a device group. In the Device Management menu, click Manage device groups, and then click Create group. Enter a group name and description.
Select the check box to configure primary and secondary support contact details for the devices in the group. You can also copy the information from the Settings menu. Click Next to configure parts dispatch information. Enable the option to automatically receive replacement parts and enter the primary and secondary shipping contact and address information.
You can also copy the shipping information provided in the Settings menu. Click Create group. Now, let’s manage this group by assigning devices to it. Note that by default, all the devices inventoried in secure connect gateway are automatically assigned to the Default group. For the list of devices that can be assigned to custom groups, see the User’s Guide. Select a group and click Manage.
Select and move the ungrouped devices to the group and click Save. In addition to enabling maintenance mode for a specific device, you can enable and disable maintenance mode for all or some of the devices in the group. To enable, click the settings menu icon beside the group name and click Enable maintenance mode for devices in this group.
The number of devices in maintenance mode is displayed in the Total devices column. If you disabled maintenance mode for one of the devices in the group, the difference is automatically displayed in the Total devices column.
