In this video, we explain the new features included in Alienware Command Center version 5.x.
Alienware Command Center is an application package that is exclusive to Alienware, and selected Dell G series computers. Using the application package, you can control various features of the system and connected peripherals, such as themes, lighting, thermal management, overclocking, and so on.
Now, let's understand the new features introduced in version 5.x. Firstly, the Alienware Command Center Package Manager is introduced to significantly reduce the file size of the installer.
The package manager also detects, downloads, and installs all required application packages for your Alienware computer and connected Alienware peripherals automatically saving time and effort. Now, let's understand the updated installation process.
First, go to the folder where you have saved the package manager, double-click to start the installation, and click Next. Next, read and accept the license agreement and click Install.
The package manager automatically detects your computer and downloads all the required packages. After the installation is complete, the Install Shield Wizard Completed window is displayed.
Ensure that you restart your computer to use the newer version of Alienware Command Center. Finally, in the 5.x version, you will also see a guided walk through of the features to help new users with the application.
Here, you see an example walkthrough for customizing the Active Theme. Note that the walk throughs are available for peripheral setting changes, customizing the active theme, overclocking setting changes, and Alienware display settings.
After you apply a setting using a particular walk through, the next time when you open the application, the next available walk through is displayed.
