In this video, we show how to replace the system battery in a PowerEdge R770. In order to remove the system battery, you first need to remove the cover and right air shroud. To remove the cover, rotate the lock counterclockwise to unlock it. Lift the latch to release the cover, then remove it from the system. To remove the right air shroud, disconnect and unroute any Gray cables. Pull back on the retention clip and lift the shroud out of the system.
To remove the system battery, pull back on the retention latch to release the battery and remove it. To install the system battery, slide it under the latch and press down to snap it into place. To install the right air shroud, align and lower it into the system, then route and connect any Gray cables.
To install the cover, align and place it on the system. Lower the latch, then rotate the lock clockwise to secure the cover. For more information or support about the PowerEdge R770, visit dell.com/support.
