In this video, we’ll show you how to use the Collaboration Touchpad during a Zoom or Microsoft Teams call. Before you get started, please note you must have the latest version of Dell Optimizer and Zoom or Teams applications installed for the Collaboration Touchpad to work.
Also, when using Teams for the first time, you may need to enable third-party APIs in order to activate the Touchpad’s advanced functionality. In “Settings”, go to “Privacy”. Scroll to the bottom and click “Manage API”, then activate “Enable API”. After which, the next time you start a Teams meeting, you’ll get a new connection request pop-up. Click “Allow”.
The Collaboration Touchpad is an optional feature on our premium devices that makes conference calls easier by activating icons on the touchpad to control your camera, chat, mute, and other functionality during an active Zoom or Teams call. You're also able to swipe to hide the icons during a call and swipe again to bring them back. Next, let's go through how to customize these icons to your liking.
Open Dell Optimizer and click “Collaboration Touchpad” to find settings to enable or disable individual icons based on your need, adjust your brightness automatically or manually, and activate controls on double-tap in case you’re worried about tapping them by mistake.
You should note that the Collaboration Touchpad icons do not work if you’re on multiple calls simultaneously, if you’re on the web version of the call, or if you have disabled the feature in the BIOS settings.
