Identifying Dell Products without a Service Tag

Dell uses product identifiers such as Service Tag, Express Service Code, or Serial Number to access product information such as technical specifications, documentation, or warranty. Identifying your Dell product on Dell.com/support provides access to product-specific documentation, drivers, and more.

Most Dell-branded devices such as keyboard, mouse, external hard drive, speakers, do not have a Service Tag or Express Service Code. Such devices must be identified using the model number or name of the device. The label containing the device name and model number is usually located on the bottom of the device. The model number and name is also located on the original packaging of the device.

NOTE: For Dell software or service contracts with no Service Tag, select the name of the software or service contract on Dell.com/support.

NOTE: To get documentation and support for third-party or non-Dell branded products, visit the product manufacturer’s website.
