Before you begin this process, make sure to back up your data, be sure the laptop is off and disconnected from its power source and all external peripherals are removed to prevent eddy static electricity. Use an anti static wrist strap or touch a grounded metal object before handling the device.
If possible work on an anti static mat or table, you'll need a small Phillips head screwdriver, a plastic scribe and a small flat head screwdriver to complete this removal. Once you've completed the previous steps, turn the system over on its closed lid and loosen the eight captive screws securing the access panel with the system turned over on its lid.
The battery is located on the bottom right hand side of the system disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard loosen the single captive screw on the right hand side of the battery, lift the battery up and away from the laptop with the computer placed on its closed lid.
The memory modules are located in the middle of the system gently pull apart the metal clips holding the memory stick.
When the memory module lifts at an angle, pull it out of the socket and away from the system to reinstall the memory card align the notch in the memory stick with the tab in the connector and insert the stick at an angle gently press the RAM module against the motherboard to secure the metal clips.
