To remove the base cover, loosen the four captive screws. And remove the six screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover next to the display hinges and then continue to work on the sides to open the base cover. Lift and remove the base cover away from the computer. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board.
Turn the computer over and open the display. Press and hold the power button for five seconds, to ground the computer and drain the flea power. After draining the flea power, close the display and turn the computer over. Now, let’s remove the right fan. Disconnect the right fan cable from the system board. Remove the two screws that secure the right fan to the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Lift the right fan off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
You have successfully removed the right fan. Now let’s see how to install the right fan. Align and place the right fan on the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Replace the two screws that secure the right fan to the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Connect the right fan cable to the system board. Once the right fan is installed, connect the battery cable and install the base cover back to the computer.
To install the base cover, connect the battery cable to the system board. Place the base cover on top of the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Align the screw holes on the base cover with the screw holes on the palm rest and keyboard assembly, and then snap the base cover into place.
Tighten the four captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly. Replace the six screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
