Before you begin, power off the system and disconnect all of the attached peripherals. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the system.
For more information about safety guidelines, see the Service Manual at Dell.com/PowerEdgeManuals. To begin, you must first remove the system cover and then the cabled power supply unit with dongle cable.
Starting with the system cover, lift the release latch and remove the system cover. For the cabled PSU, first disconnect the power cable from the system board.
Then, disconnect the dongle cable from the system board connecting to the cabled PSU. Then, remove the screws, slide and lift the PSU toward the front of the system.
To replace the PSU, first place it in the system and slide it toward the back of the system until it is fully seated, and then tighten the screws.
Now, bundle the PSU cable with equal interval spaces between the cable ties. Next, connect the power cable and the power dongle cable on the system board connectors.
Next, align the system cover with the slots on the system, and then press the cover until it clicks into place. You have replaced the cabled power supply unit with dongle cable on a PowerEdge T150.
