In this video, we show how to replace the fan on OptiPlex Micro 7020 or OptiPlex Micro Plus 7020. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
Loosen the thumb-screw that secures the side cover to the chassis. Slide and lift the cover off the chassis. Disconnect the speaker cable from its connector on the system board and remove the cable from the routing guides on the fan assembly.
Press and hold the release tab on the speaker before lifting it away from the support bracket. Press and hold the tabs that secure the fan assembly to the heatsink. Turn over the fan assembly and disconnect its cable from the connector on the system board.
Then, lift the fan assembly away from the heatsink. Now, let's install the fan. Connect the fan cable to the connector on the system board. Turn over the fan assembly and place it over the heatsink. and ensure the tabs snap into their positions on the heatsink. Now, let's install the speaker. Press and hold the release tab on the speaker before placing it on the support bracket.
Release the tab to secure the speaker to the bracket. Then, place the speaker cable into its routing guides on the fan assembly before connecting the cable. Align the side cover on the chassis. and slide in the cover. Then, tighten the thumb-screw to secure the cover to the chassis.
