Also, turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals. To begin, loosen the thumb screw that secures the side cover to the chassis. Slide the side cover towards the front of the computer, then lift it away from the chassis. Remove the two screws that secure the riser-card module to the chassis. Now, hold the riser-card module, lift it away, and place it on its side with the riser-card connector facing up.
Open the latch on the riser-card module. Hold the E810 network adapter by its edges, pull to disconnect it from the connector and then remove. To install the E810 network adaptor, holding by the edges, align the notch on the network adapter with the tab on slot 2 of the riser-card module, and slide it into the connector.
Then push until it is firmly seated in place and close the latch. Align the notch on the riser-card module with the tab on the slot on the system board and slide the riser-card module into the slot. Replace the two screws to secure the riser-card module to the chassis.
Finally, align the tabs on the side cover with the slots on the chassis and slide the cover towards the back. Replace the thumb screw and tighten it to secure the side cover to the chassis. You can now connect all the peripherals and power on the computer. For more information or support about Precision 3280 Compact, visit Dell.com/Support.
