When your touch pad is not working or it's acting strangely. Here are a few things you can do to get it back to functioning. Normally again, confirm if the touch pad can be enabled through the function key, press and hold the function key and the F seven key simultaneously. Depending on your computer model. Once you're operating in safe mode, test your touch pad if it's not responsive, try the next step. Update the system bios, windows, search bit locker and select manage bit locker. Click on suspend protection and then yes to confirm. Now, go to dell.com/support and click on detect PC or enter your service tag, select drivers and downloads, set bios as the category. Download the latest update available and run the executable file.
Click on update and follow the on screen instructions to complete the process. If you are updating the bios on a laptop, make sure the battery is present and the AC adapter is plugged in update your drivers using Dell support assist, windows, search and select support assist and open it within the home tab on the get drivers and downloads. Tile, click on the run button support assist will automatically show all available updates.
Just click on install and follow the on screen instructions. If you're still having touch pad issues, go on to the next step. Enable the touchpad gestures and check settings. Click on the start menu and go into settings, select devices and navigate to touch pad, adjust and customize all the gesture options and test their impact on your touch pad.
