Welcome to VMware Carbon Black Onboarding Part 1.
This video will cover: A product overview. Adding a user to the console. Changing a user's role. Creating a role. And product documentation and support. In this video, you may see some options that are not present on your VMware Carbon Black Cloud console.
The available options are determined by the services your organization has purchased. The VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is a solution as a service managed sensor that leverages signatures, cloud-based reputation, and unfiltered data to protect devices from malware, threats, and incidents.
Carbon Black Defense provides next-generation antivirus and endpoint detection and response. Carbon Black LiveOps is a real-time endpoint query. And Carbon Black threat hunter features allow the capturing of unfiltered data that can be viewed in the "Investigate" section of the console.
To add a user to the console, from the "Settings" section, select "Users", then click the "Add User" button. In the "Add User" window, fill in the user's first name, last name, email address, phone number, and select the appropriate role for the user. A user can only be assigned one role.
After you have made your selections, click "Save" to finish. The user will be sent a confirmation email. The user must confirm their account before their name will appear in the "Users" list. To change a user's role, in the "Settings" section, select the "Users" option. Then, locate the user whose role you need to change.
On the "Users" page, you will see the role that is assigned to the user in the "Role" column. To change a user's role, click on the "Edit" button. In the "Edit User" window, in the "Role" section, select the new role for the user. After the new role is selected, click "Save" to complete the change.
