This video shows how to replace the intrusion switch module on a PowerEdge R7525. To begin, power off the system and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
Please note, always use ESD protection when working inside the system. Now you can remove the system cover. To access the intrusion switch module, you need to first remove the expansion card riser.
Look into the Dell EMC PowerEdge R7525 Installation and Service Manual available at dell.com/poweredgemanuals to remove the expansion card riser.
Disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the connector on the rear I/O board. Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw on the intrusion switch module.
Now you can lift the module out of the slot on the system. You have now removed the intrusion switch module out of the system. To install the replacement module, you need to slide the module into the slot on the system.
Using a screwdriver, tighten the screw on the module. You can now connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the rear I/O board.
If removed, reinstall the expansion card riser. Now replace the system cover. Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet.
